LED interior lights from past group buy are flickering now
So I bought and installed the interior led lights from that group buy around 6 months ago, and they've looked great. However, lately I've noticed that some of them are starting to flicker where I don't recall them doing it before. This is both when the car is off or on, so I presume it's not a battery issue. Anyone else experiencing this?

That's a sign of an electronic component failing. Could be circuit board or LED itself, usually circuit related. You really can't trust them and assume it'll fail sooner than OE bulbs.
There is so much bad stuff being sold, its hard to filter out the quality stuff. Unless its a vendor that stands by their product with some sort of warranty.

I've got a few spares left from the group buy. Let me know which one(s) you're having trouble with and I'll see if I can help.

Thanks, I'll take inventory and let you know. Seems like almost every area will flicker at random from time to time when they're on recently...

Multiply that by 2 or 3 for the X5 which has 20 total interior bulbs.

Wow that's high... So after looking around the interior, I've witnessed sporadic flickering on the trunk, 2nd row footwell, and 2nd row ceiling so far. I'm surprised I'm the only one from that big of a group buy with issues since it's more than just one or two bulbs.

Okay so I thought I'd check in to see who is having issues now. Has anyone bought the OEM bulbs and if so, where? I'm willing to pay a little more for factory bulbs so this issue goes away. If someone figures out where to buy and how many sets of whatever it is needed that would be a huge help!

I bought Cutequeen brand on Ebay. I spent < $30. All work fine except for the rear map lights, which flicker/strobe, so I put the halogens back in. I tried two types of chip bulbs for the rear map lights, but they both flickered. Of course, don't even think about replacing the glovebox bulb unless you're OK with popping the fuse.

Anyway, could someone with OEM LEDs post a pic? When I get back home, I'll definitely look into mine and see if I can tell if they're OEM or not...

Yes. Those are the rear map lights. I've read elsewhere about rear map lights flickering, so I doubt it's a coinkidink.

Hmm interesting... I'll have to look into it more when I get home. Sucks, I was only home for about 5 days after we bought our X... Now I'm gone for 75 days, only dreaming about what I can and want to do with the X!

There was a vendor in the classifieds (Trinity) who claimed to be expecting flicker-free bulbs for the rear map lights. I posted on the thread several days ago for a status. He indicated no flicker-free bulbs as of yet.
