Remove rear bumper - X5 M-sport
Hi guys,
I’m about to remove my rear bumper on my X5 m-sport, in order to install a towbar. I’ve managed to get the bumper loose on the sides, and now I’m having trouble to get it loose underneath the rear hatch. Not sure if I have to go underneath the car. It seems that the M-sport is a bit different to the other X5’s, so the google results doesn’t give me much help. I’ve attached a picture of how it looks like. There are four «hooks» there, and I’ve tried both to push them down and lift them, without any luck. So I’m in need of any help or hints. |

Have you looked at the diagram of the rear M trim bumper for the 11 X5 30d? Or have you looked up bumper removal on the online BMW TIS website?
Here's a link to the TIS website for rear bumper removal: https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...bumper/FvFpAam {example of 1 of the pics at TIS site linked above: Release catches (1) and with a 2nd person helping pull bumper trim (2) towards rear out of catches (1) and remove.Installation: Bumper trim (2) must be correctly fed in at catches (1). Below is a diagram of the rear M-trim bumper...perhaps it will help to see if you missed some securing hardware. The encircled numbers indicate "hardware"...if you need the name or part nbr...click the link & it will take you directly to the diagram for a 2011 X5 30d (that's all the info I had to go by) Last edited by Qsilver7; 03-21-2018 at 11:40 AM.. |

I’ve released everything, so it’s just the four circles to the nr. 1 on the TIS picture above, which still holds the bumper in place.
According to this website, it should be four clips, but I can’t seem to understand where these clips are, and how to release them. http://www.danplanet.com/blog/2015/0...mw-x5-m-sport/ |
