Air Bag Replacement finally

So check this out,,i got the call from my local BMW Dealer that parts were in to fix recall,,great,,i go in, work gets done and I get the call to come pick it up and then the SA says " by the way the tech noticed that your glove box keeps opening on its own " that has never happened to me in all the time i've had the vehicle. Long story short, they want 780.00 to replace one of two actuators....anyone ever had a glove box problem,,,that's just about the stupidest designs ever....geez

...they probably broke your glove box while replacing the airbag. They have to take the whole dash out to replace the passenger side airbag. I just had mine done two days ago. They didn’t break anything though thank goodness

Did you replace the steering wheel airbag or the passenger side? If the passenger side, you should raise hell with the service manager without delay.

exactly what he said, if passenger air bag had to be replaced they had to remove the dash and possibly screwed up somewhere (get in touch with u SA as soon as u can)
I just got mine driver's side replaced, took them full 20 min) didn't even had to schedule appointment, just stopped by on my way home from work and after 2 years of waiting they finally had air bags in stock! as for passenger there is no such recall for 2013, I assume it only applies to older models...

Driver side was done several months back , this was done a week or so ago. I did bitch up a storm but I was met with blank stares of disbelief that such a thing could happen...pricks

How long did the replacement take? Did they give you a loaner?

thanks for confirmation, I can't tell what model X5 u have but I assume not X5M, this could be the difference.
I checked BMW recall site before going for the replacement and only outstanding recall for my VIN was driver's side air bag.
