I wouldn't worry about it. I'm sure there's a lot of other poor accountants out there.

I Feel Ya

I've had a similar experience with the same company and I'm currently looking to make the switch. Any ideas where I can find good insurance in PA without sacrificing competence? I found this site that published a comparison study but I'm not sure how reliable it is.

The DMV doesn't care if you are unhappy with Nationwide.

And getting the shaft from the DMV will cost you way more than Nationwide since it will likely force your rates up anywhere you go for a couple of years.

Plus when you go shopping you can say you have continuous coverage.
THIS!!

Same thing happened to me except after a couple months I receive a nasty gram letter from the NY DMV about revoking my license for having a car registered w/o insurance. I had to back pay a couple months. I believed my insurance agent when they told me all the downfalls of not paying back the premium. Good luck.

I've been real happy w/ State Farm, but haven't had an auto claim in 7 or 8 years, and it wasn't major - and I honestly haven't checked on most of the items listed next b/c I'm lazy and in total denial it could ever happen to me . Key items that you may want to ask about (based upon other postings here r.e. inconsistent features) are if they would cover rodent or flood damage, how they deal with repairs (OEM vs. aftermarket/used), how they deal with loss of value in a major claim, and loaner policy.

IIRC, the initial contract and payment setup shows intent, so if you had an accident you would have been covered unless they could show they actually took steps to cancel your policy and informed you of that - this also means you had the intent to pay them the premiums, so you can't really argue that you should not have to do that. This is why they are usually so aggressive about failed payments - they are still on the hook until they do due process to boot you off the policy. But I'm not a lawyer, and they may have gerrymandered the regs to their favor in PA.
