about to pull the trigger on a '13 n55, questions?

Hi All,

Long time BMW guy, from roadfly to bimmerfest to the 1addicts board and now here.

I'm expecting to trade in my 09 535xiT tomorrow on a 2013 x5 3.5i. Can you guys give me any advice on x5 specific ppi things to look for? I'm familiar with the n55 engine (I have it in my 135 'vert), and general BMW issues, but not with anything x5 specific. It is a one owner vehicle with 45k miles. Carfax is clean (fwiw).

The car I'm considering has an interesting option list. It has Sport Seats, but doesn't seem to be a Sport Activity line, as it has 19" 334 wheels and I don't see a sport steering wheel or paddle shifters in the pics. It does not have either of the M Sport or M Performance/Appearance package either. Otherwise it is nicely optioned with conveneince, tech and cold weather but no self leveling suspension. Looking at the ordering guide, I don't see how you can get sport seats without the SA 'line'.

Any recommendations for things to watch out forwould be much appreciated as well as any known "Weak Links" with LCI e70s so I can prepare my wallet for the future. Do the panoramic sunroofs clog and leak like they do on 5 wagons? If they do, does the water dump into the electronics bay?

Might run the VIN for recalls, most need a new airbag unless it was already done.

The last 7 of the vin are:0G50450

I ran the VIN decoder to figure out the option list and confirmed what I could via pictures.

It's a late April 2013 build so I assume it has the updated driveshaft? What's the deal with that, is it wide spread?
