i installed Ar design catless downpipes... First off the turbo lag is gone... And now you can hear the turbos spooling....and the exhaust is much loader in M mode....one downside you do get the smell of gas... especially at a stop...

There is a small difference, I had catless before and the only reason I took them off and went with race cats was the gas smell other wise I would of loved to keep catless.... Good luck with your choice.

So the extra decibels from catless didn't off set the gas smell huh? Now how about OEM cat vs race cat......marginal improvement in sound?

I bought Mike L Ultimate Racing down pipes that are catted and the exhaust is much louder than factory, not to mention the hp upgrade. I am happy with the catted, didn't want to chance an emission issue in PA.
I think either route you take, the aftermarket vs factory is definitively better!!! Thanks Mike for the deal on them!!! |

Couldn't live with the gas smell. The race cats vs OEM cats huge difference in sound. I actually modified the stock exhaust and I'm extremely happy with the exhaust sound now. |

I've run catless on various cars for a number of years, close to a decade now across a few cars. Normally if a car isn't "tuned," the fumes are pretty bad, otherwise a proper tune will lean out a normally factory rich tune. Of course exhaust leaks are a strong contributor to this too...

Be sure to check how the downpipe connects to the exhaust. I had purchased a set of EFI Logic downpipes; but, they had a bolt on flange where I needed a slip on. They were well made. They just could not make the changes I needed in time.
