Brake pedal sometimes goes hard?

Happened a few times to me, usually it only happens when the car has just been started, such as when I'm pulling out of the driveway in the morning. Is this a common issue?

Same thing happened to me in Aug. Ability to slow the X5 was getting worse. Had to almost push down with two feet to come to a stop at slow speeds. Ended up having my Indy shop replace brake booster. Braking back to normal.

You're losing hydraulics - massive safety issue. If you have to stomp the pedal, get your lines and reservoir/ABS module checked.

Turned out to be both the vacuum pump and brake booster. $$$ expensive repair.
