3) Looks: it will never look like a 2012 LED light, no matter if you have a halogen or aftermarket LED in there. But the aftermarket LEDs tend to light up the inner halo very brightly, which does not distribute well into the outer halo. So it looks like your outer halo isn't even on. I cannot have that.
1. Agree.
2. Installing LUX (not sure about other brands) is no harder than a normal set of bulbs.
3. A halogen or LED bulb is going into the same housing...each will light up the inner and outer rings proportionately with regard to the bulb's brightness. The thing you're probably seeing in pictures of LUX or other brands is the fact the outer rings have a more sensitive viewing angle, so if not viewed directly straight on will appear dim or off. The inner rings have a wider viewing angle, so it's less of an issue there.

One thing not mentioned, is the fact that LED bulbs have a substantially longer life than halogen bulbs, so while they are more pricey they will last pretty much forever.

Short of swapping out the entire headlights, or sending them off to OSS, LED H8 bulbs will get you the closest to the 2012+ LED coronas.
