Just wrapped my aluminum trim with 3M DiNoc CF

So after looking at all the options and going back and forth with having a pro do it, my wallet and brains prevailed. The cost for a pro was over $500 to wrap the trim as compared to $50.00 for the material, some research, a couple hours and some sore fingers from pulling the panels. While I have seen some panels door trim wrapped in place, the videos from Bavsound detail how to remove the panel. Armed with this knowledge and some door trim panel removal tools, I thought I could accomplish it. Interestingly, the pro quotes 5 hours to do the job, I did it in 4! I also did the passenger side twice as I wasn't happy with the first attempt. Make sure you use a sharp xacto knife to the bottom of each piece that is butted up against the bottom of the aluminum trim. I also used a hair dryer to wrap the edges, shrink them around the back of the trim.

Your pictures make it look really nice. How's the texture compared to the OEM carbon leather?

I think it is very similar. It has a nice texture and not too shiny

Looks really good. Are you going to wrap the sides of the center console too?

I got it from Bimmian.com but I think you can get it from a number of online sources.

I have thought about the center console strips. I originally was going to do them however that trim is slightly different and the main factor in wrapping them was to hide the small dings in the door panel trim. I might do them in the future...not sure.

I noticed that the 3M Di Noc comes in both matte and gloss. Just curious as to what you guys chose and how many sq ft you needed to include the center strips?? Thanks!

I got 2 feet x 4 feet and had plenty left over. I probably could have used 2 feet x 2 feet yet I did not do the transmission part.

Mine is the matte finish.

The trims need to be removed to get a really good fit. The only trim I did not remove was the glove box piece, it's held on with plastic rivets. All the others are easy to remove.

Hi, Awesome job wrapping the trim.!! I'm stuck on the glovebox lower trim wrap and don't know how to remove the lower trim. You said you didn't remove the glovebox, how did you wrap it? Did u do it in the car without taking out the glovebox? If so, how did you fold the carbon fiber inside the left and right edges?

Really appreciate the advice. Thanks!
