Keyfob

I am taking delivery of My X5M in the next couple of days. They only have one key so I will need to get another one. I did a search and did not see anything on how to much a keyfob would cost. Anyone has purchased an additional keyfob? Price?

You shouldn't have to pay.
This happened to me when I got my X5M, but the dealer ordered it for me at no cost. When it arrived, I went back to the dealer and got it programmed for free.

Depends where he is buying it. BMW dealership, maybe. Non-BMW dealership unlikely, but worth trying.

When I bought my X5, It only came with ONE keyfob (previous owner lost it but I deactivated it). I needed atleast another 2, one for my Dad and another one for spare. I went to the parts department and they told me it was $360 (CAD) for just the key fob and it would be an extra 90 for the keyblade then I would have to pay an extra 70 (half an hour of labor) and book a time to get the key to even work or pay 153 to get comfort access enabled (utter bull). Went to plug the key into the keyslot and boom, the key worked! Went back into the dealership and I asked them if I was gonna pay $70 just so I can have my car sit on their lot. Bought 2 keys, one full key fob and one with just the keyfob and no spare key. Total cost me $810.

Why wouldn't this be part of the negotiation up front? Let them handle it.

I haven't paid the crazy money for a second key. I figure if I lost my primary key, I'd order a replacement then.
