Matte CF Interior Wrap

So my CPO X5M came with Black Piano interior trim which while it looks great in pics and brochures seems to be a magnet for every finger print or scratch that one could possibly find/occur on the car. So I tried to find a set of OEM CF Leather trim to replace it with. No luck. No where could I seem to get a set other than eBay for $2k. No thanks. So I engaged my [somewhat] local shop and inquired on the ability to do a Matte CF wrap on those pieces. Flash to 1 week later after post Eisenmann Race Install; the X is back and results look great! Also had a set of Pedalhaus black anodized aluminum racing pedals w/M script installed as well. Good look for $175 also (www.pedalhaus.com)

So gents/gals out there this is a viable alternative for those who want to clean up their interior and get rid of the piano black trim issues.

Looks amazing. Any feedback on wear-ability? i.e. scratch, peel...etc? If this holds up, I'd love to do this on my ///M.

That looks sick! I prefer it to the factory carbon leather. I actually just bought an X5M with the aluminum interior trim, and had wondered about doing the trim swap or wrap like you did.

Looks great!

Now if I can just get the damn thing shipped from CA to OR I will actually be able to drive it.

Whoa, is that shop in Portland, OR? Just noticed the name in the last pic and looked them up, as I would be highly interested in doing this at some point on my X5M. I happen to live in Portland.

Are you here in PDX, or did you drive up here to have it done at that shop?

So far no issues but its only been about a little over a week. But that is the good thing...if needed just re-wrap the piece to repair. Little cost there.

Ha..I bought mine in CA also and had it shipped to WA. Cost me $750.

I drive down to Matrix, Integrated and have them do all my work on my vehicles and upgrades. They did the exhaust install also. Yeah its in Portland. If you want just call them and ask for Jeremy [one of the owners] and tell him Rob C sent you and you saw his Matte CF wrap on his X5M and were interested in getting it done. They are VERY good as you can tell as I drive down from Tacoma to get work done on my vehicle by them versus staying local. Great customer service and they can really do anything you want or find someone who can for you.

Thanks for the likes gents.

I like the look of the CF wrap. I have a '12 M with the same Piano Black trim and I'd love to wrap it. How do I even begin to look for someone with the ability to do this? What type of shops would I look for?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Look around at detail shops and also if you have any independent shops the service high end autos you can ask them. You can also ask your dealership as often the client advisors know who does it on the outside. Granted I know most of my sales guys very well so they will tell me who does the cheaper and better tint jobs often and such on accessories than trying to sell me the dealer package they KNOW I ain't gonna buy. What city are you in? That may play a role too.

I'm in the North Jersey / NY Metro area. Also not too far from Philadelphia...I'd have to believe there's someone around here that does this stuff. I got a lead on a guy in Landsdale that does wraps, so I'll start there.

If you, or anyone out there, knows of someone in my area, please shout.

Thanks,

Look for a good window tint shop and one that does wraps. Likely will be able to do easily enough.
