2011 40d - Upgrades advices

Hi guys,
this is my new 2011 40d, bought from Italy

I'm searching for some body kits, but the only reasonable prices I found were the Aerodynamic kit, but I don't like it very much, do you guys know some bumpers around 2k?

How about the wheels, I am choosing between:
http://www.ebay.de/itm/4-BMW-Styling...item3a8da76747

or

http://www.ebay.de/itm/4-x-Orig-BMW-...item1e8a18784a

Thanks

+1 the OEM aero kit is fantastic on the non-M X5, but I'd avoid rep wheels whenever possible.

Check out the set of OEM 310m wheels in the FS section, shipping to RO might be a bitch though.

I've heard many people say this, but i'm on my 2nd set and i've yet to have a problem. My first was a set of 19" on my 3 series, and now my 20" on the X.

Oddly enough, though, was that my set of iforged wheels were the ones that gave me some balancing issues.

Maybe I've just been lucky?

Yeah, it's really hit or miss.

My biggest issue with them is they tend to be made by the lowest bidder, and have very little (if any) testing, let alone any kind of certification stating they won't shred to pieces once you hit 60mph.

At least when buying OEM, or from a longstanding aftermarket manufacturer like BBS or HRE you know they have put the time and effort into making sure things are made right in order to pass TUV certification, and that they will be around in 6mos or a year should any issues pop up.

Granted, I'm not saying all reps are bad or dangerous, but I'm personally not willing to risk the safety of my wife and kids, just for the sake of saving a few bucks.

I have a set of OEM 299M wheels for sale, with or without high performance tires, all set to be refinished to the color of your choice. They would look great on your ride! I am happy to have them refinished here prior to shipping if you are interested.

Thanks guys!

Another little question, if I would install the extruded fenders, what other mods I need to do to the wheels to come out a little?

If you go with a staggered set of OEM wheels, they have the more aggressive offsets built into the rears already.

If you want to go a bit more extreme you can add spacers. 20-25mm in the rear seems to be a popular choice for a near flush fitment.

Is 22 any better? I am only aware of 2 tires - the all season or UHP Pirelli's. Is there anything else?

Cool.

I believe those may have the X6 size rear hubs, so you'll need to use adapters on the rears, or get them bored out just a bit.

I have the all season version - they have been fine so far. 21" tires are twice the price? Eeks!

What sizes are you running with your 22s?

The all-seasons are a bargain, but the summers are ridiculous. Maybe I'm missing something here.

Might be a canada thing. Tires are more there than we pay.

Congrats on the new 40d! Very nice. Personally, I think the M Sport kit still looks best. So if you're willing to spend a little time and money, I'd get the front and rear bumper from the M Sport. Then get the flares painted, mounted, along with some nice OEM 21" wheels and you should be rolling around in a sweet 40d!

My favorite aftermarket wheel for the X5 is the BBS SV, which comes in 21". Gorgeous!

Tomorrow I will install the side door steps... I liked how it looks on other x5s, I hope that are useful too. Next week the wheels and the black grill should arrive.
I'll be takin some pics soon

Btw, if you have links of M kits that would fit on this one, please share
