'09 Closeout
I'm been in contact with my salesman on an 09 X6 50. It is pretty well loaded, ZCW, ZPP, ZPS, ZRC, and ZSP. His suggested price is $77,600.
Any idea on what the wiggle room may be and urgency to move 09 models from the floor? Thanks |

on an 09.. you should get a lot. I just ordered a '10 with an MSRP of 78,900.. they dropped it down to 73,550. Make sure they understand that you know they need to sell the '09 more than you need to buy it. For what you are paying you should be getting a '10. So if you have your heart set on an '09 make sure they compensate you very well for taking a leftover model.

You should be in a very strong position to bargain. I got $8k off the msrp on my 35i, and also an additional $2k on my trade. And... I bought it at the beginning of September. I'm sure they want to move the 09's out more now than ever before.

The dealership here has 3 '09 models left - all with the old idrive and entry- level sound system (which btw really does sound entry-level) yet they have HUD and the usb socket. I don't know what to do. Decisions, decisions
If I go for a factory order my trade-in will be another year older and i'll be facing a shitty 'take it or leave it' offer. |

Depending on the discount available, buying an 09 may represent excellent value. My X6 has every single option except active steering and rear DVD entertainment, and stickered at $73k. I weighed the new iDrive in the 2010 models against a much higher price (and lower trade value if I had waited longer) and since I was used to the iDrive from my 07 335i convertible, decided to go for the 09. I've had no regrets and feel I got an excellent price for both the X6 and my trade. But if you think you'll regret not waiting for the 2010 and/or the new iDrive and HD-based nav, you may be better off waiting. I've had car-buying regrets before, and once you've pulled the trigger, "fixing" things is rather expensive.

How about this deal
2009 X5 50i. Cold Weather, Premium Pack, Sound, Sport with 20" wheels, Camera, Comfort Access, HD Radio, Smartphone, Soft Close Doors and Active Steering. Black Sapphire/Black Sport Seats. The MSRP is 82K+.
Brand New - 12 miles on odometer......Sale price....$69,850! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Leased for 36 months, 15K miles per year....$799 per month, NJ 7.5% with total $5k drive off (First, Inceptions, bank fee, taxes, etc.) . They smashed the price on this thing to get rid of it. Yes, a VERY good deal. Had to drive 200 miles to pick it up in another state. Did the whole thing via email and fedex. This is the type of deal you should be looking for at year end. $10K+ off MSRP is totally realistic.......(not to mention the treehuggers and commies have made these cars "incorrect" to drive making them a bit more difficult to sell). And forget about the new Idrive. Who cares. I have a friend who is driving the same '09 50i as mine (but with Nappa Leather, nice!) and he is paying $1175 per month, with less mileage allowance in his lease, and virtually the same money down. This is the BEST time to get into an '09 if you can find one you actually want. Very happy. My 14th new BMW. 1200 miles on the clock now. |

my 2010 deal
Well Greek you got the smokin deal.
I found a 2009 Vermillion Red loaded nearby, and they were offering close to 7500 off for openers. It was enticing at that price. But I had to have a 2010. I wanted ZPP performance upgrade , new idrive, & needed the car spec'd exactly as I wanted in color interior, etc. So, 2010 Alpine white, oyster int, prem, prem sound, sport pack, 20" wheels, rear clim, comf access, perf upgrade, active steering, sat rad, run boards, smart phone, rear view cam. I go new every three & so I lease, came damn close to throwing down for a X6M but the residual was surprisingly a lot less, and this coupled with the extra 10k made leasing an M not a real good deal (1550/mo). MSRP on mine is 84325, Did $0 down & no security deposit at signing This equates to $1449.25 at signing and remaining 35 payments @ 1224.85/mo for a 12k/36 month leaase. That is a fully taxed & fees monthly payment. Still seems high but with a true nothing down it's not bad, drive off with first month and doc fee only. The wholesale on the vehicle was 77740 and the dealer markup was only 2810on this deal. On a lease with this high of MSRP for an ordered 2010, it was about as good as I could find within a 250 mile radius of home here in Michigan. There are curently no BMW incentives that I know of for a 2010, so yes you will pay for a 2010. I would expect something from BMW at sometime but not right at the start of the production year. All said & done it probably costs me about $100 - $150 more a month to do the 2010 vs 2009. I am good with that as the car is exactly what I want and has a few upgrades over 2009 (idrive & perf upgrade). I guess the no security down will about pay for my 20" snow tires I will need immediately........ |

Thanks.
Really happy with the X6. I drove the 3.0 TT, but found it was underpowered for me (that does not mean it is slow, however). The 6cyl had to work too hard to move a 5300 pound vehicle. The V8 is just so strong and sounds like a beast when you get on it. I have had many V8 BMW's, but this motor is great
When we started negotiating, I realized very quickly this dealer would do anything to get me to sign. They told me the car had been in inventory for almost 5 months. It was Black Sapphire/Black...just what I was looking for. I threw ridiculous numbers out to the GM of the dealership and he simply said "here is the number.... I am losing thousands, take it or leave it and there is no room for anything else". I actually would have paid a couple hundred more a month for this car (and it still would have been a good deal). Still can't believe the numbers they agreed to. BTW, I forgot to list Rear Climate when I listed my options. Enjoy your X6!! |
