Very cool. That is very smart as I have found the current park assist is very inaccurate and beeps solid and shows the red sensor when you in fact have about 12-18 inches of room left.

My wife has this on her 90 Infinity FX50S, and it's a great parking aid. I wish it were available on my 09.

since camera is located in the outside mirror wonder if you can get a dealer install retro fit ? I know it would require additional software but would think everything else is already there.

I thought the same thing at first. The white things you see are what's actually below the mirror, it just looks taller and bigger because of the camera lens perspective. The picture of the car is not really the car, but a representation to show what's at each of the 4 sides shown by the camera. Everything you see on the front, sides and rear is below the level of each of the 4 cameras.

Can not be done. The new Idrive hardware and screen is a new system and is not compatible with older hardware. But, on the 3 series, the new knob works on the old system.

Bird's Eye View is a Misnomer because it's really just a representation of a b.e.v.

I agree not true BEV but certainly a great step given the dimensions and perspective of the car. Nonetheless, I love this technology. In the not too distant future, do you think we will have true windshields? It will all be optical projections and drive by wire...LOL... better get used to it
