My car dnt have the door pockets n rear door handles lighting too. Only the 2 ambience LED at the top(where the button to open sun-roof). I tink is for the light package or 50xi x6 only. Mayb can retrofit the pockets lightin.... I will ask ard n try it out....

Hm.... must b the different standard options in different countries. Well will try to retrofit at the pockets. I have DIY the CF on the silver triming. Next weekend will try the LED, shldnt b any problem since i have done it on my Audi.

Yeah I've heard that this trim isn't available in the US. I really don't get that. The car is made in the US, so the trim is installed over there. Why wouldn't they offer it for US customers???

Who knows? Maybe they feel the target American consumer for the car wants something more "elegant" or "rich" not so "sporty".

I get that perhaps they decided it was not for American tastes but still, is it really the extra line of print on the order form that means they can't offer it?

I assume that the production line for Europe and the US is the same at the factory so I can't see where the extra costs would hit BMW by offering it as an option.

We have black with chateau red... sports seats.. we were totally surprised ina good way that they were 2 tone seats leather sides and Suede ceats and back,.... extremely nice

VOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWW WWWWWWWWW. I wanted to change the light of the dials only (speedometer) to look like yours but would went the whole way.

Please give more info, how complex, etc.

Could you share with us how you did this? Looks much cleaner than the OEM red that are on the non-M cars.

I have a 35i, I do have the red strip of light at the map pocket though..
But as others said, it is so dim that it's not even noticeable.

I am also interested in "adjusting" the light to make them brighter..
