X5 Coding 2012-cable and softwares

Hello everyone, I know this topic has been discussed before also but still have some questions and clarifications:

I have 2012 X5, 35d
- what type of cable do I need, is it for E70 or F series? (OBD or Inpa K + DCan)
- what software's do I need? (E-Sys software, PSdZData or anything else)
and where I can find these software's? I am located in Toronto, ON

I will appreciate if someone can take some time and provide some details.
I was reading that these software's are free of cost, but hard to find reliable source to download them.

And yeah I found this item on ebay, can someone please verify if this is worth it or not? (I mean genuine, workable!!!)

http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-USB-OBD-...-/251495402102

Thanks in Advance -)

I have a brand new cable and Acer Aspire with the software already downloaded. I never did any coding. Let me know if you're interested. Thanks.

That Amazon cable is hit an miss. I think if you get one with the green circuit board it'll work but the white one doesn't and you can't choose at checkout.

After 2 tries with the amazon one i ended up paying 100$ for the proper one form one stop electronics.

Please link to the proper cable... I bought the "correct" cable on eBay (same place I bought my E46 cable, which worked perfectly) and it didn't work. The guy that was helping me said it HAS to be my cable... He was reading the same info you said, the cable is hit or miss...

Thanks in advance!

I just got this cable a few days ago, white circuit, and I was able to code my X5.

This is the cable I ended up getting and it worked great.

Try the amazon one to see if you can get it cheaper - you can always return it if it doesn't work. But if you want it to definitely work just get the one form this link.

Just ordered cable with green circuit board, hoping this will fix the error I keep getting in INPA for E70. Did you have any problems with INPA not showing the 2 black dots when tested? Running on Windows 7 with XP compatibility mode, so not sure if it a cable issue or software issue.
