Spacer/Hub Adapter Question

I bought the H&R hub adapters so that I could run X5M rims on my X5 M-sport. I just wanted to know . . .uh, does this look right? There's probably a difference in 2-3mm between the rim face and the adapter. So the adapter looks like it's about 6mm diameter too small. Thoughts?

Link to the adapters.

That is fine. As long as the spacer is flat against the rotor and the pad of the wheel.

They probably make them in that size uniformly for cost and weight savings.

Only way to fix that is to go custom made spacer and measure the pad dimensions.

That seems strange. Here is a pic of my adapters on the hub.

Adapters should generally sit flush with the face of the hub. There shouldn't be a gap at all. This way the adapter is distributing the load with the face of the hub.

If there is a gap, there will be more force applied to the remaining contact points, which could mean a wobbly wheel or catastrophic failure while driving.

You may want to verify fitment by taking it off again, with a wire brush, brush off any scaling/rust on the hub surface, and verify it's properly installed.

Not correct ... safety hazard.

I have the same H&R spacers. No gap.

They must sit flush on the rotor hat and against the wheel.

Sorry if this wasn't clear. It fits flush against the face of the hub and flush with the rim. Otherwise I would imagine that it would be pretty undriveable. My wife drove it today and didn't complain. Trust me, if ANYTHING was wrong I'd hear about it.

The problem appears that the pad area (?) of the spacer is too small in diameter. Therefore there is a part of the rim that extends beyond the face of the spacer. If there were no spacer then it would fit flush against the hub face. I can take pix of the front when my wife returns from work.

I may go with @troymi suggestion and have the custom spacers made - since he's successfully run X5M rims on an X5 M-sport.

That's not a problem.

Are these OE wheels?

So you think there's no issue with the rears?

They are OEM take-offs, Style 300. I got them off Craigslist for $1700 with the Bridgestone Dueler H/P Sport RFT at about 7/32. Only damage was curb rash on right front. I'm having winter tires put on them tomorrow.
