Late intro

Good day to all.
I think this is a really late intro at least on the Xbimmers forum, I own several other M cars but really have not been to active in this forum.

I have owned now for almost a year and a half a Eurospec 2010 Alpine white X5M. I came upon the opportunity to aquire this low milage X5 and had to jump on it.

It has been helpful to read many of your posts here but still have not gone thru all of them.

My X has currently 32,000 on it, I bough it with 28,000.
Unfortunately it no longer has a warranty but I'm trying to keep her in good shape to reduce costly expensive repairs.

Right off the bat when I bough it I had new oem RF installed, and mayor service performed just to start from fresh with It as the service history was good but not 100% reliable.

The Oem wheels where painted in two colors and I decided to have them painted one single color to match the same color the F10 M5 have on the oem wheels.

I also had the calipers painted. (Full brake job performed) and updated brake lines with SS lines.

I also acquired a winter tire and wheel set up to be able to drive the M on ski trips.

After all this time of owning the X, I have found several things that I would like to know if there is anything to be done to improve.

After installing new OEM Tire Set up I have noticed that there is allot of road noise, is this due to the RF's? Noise is more noticeable at 70 mph and above.

Earlier in the year I had my winter wheels and tires and the ride was very very comfortable. Any suggestions to better the ride with the normal wheels?

At start up I have noticed sort of a rattle noise and as the truck warms up it disappears.

While driving at low speeds I notice sort of the sound a diesel truck makes. Have any of you guys experienced that or might it be the Injectors going bad?

Mine did not came with rear view camera, found a place that sells a plug and play aftermarket kit. Would it be worth it? Has any one used their products? http://www.bimmerretrofit.com/store/...product_id=114

Thank you for any feedback in advanced.

Runflat tires are have stiffer sidewalls, thus will always be rougher than normal tires, and often be a bit noisier. There is no solution to this but use non-runflats. I switched and have never been happier. Not to mention it's lower in cost, lower in weight, quieter, and even adding the OE BMW spare, I still came out cheaper.

Hi here are some photos of my X5M. I dont know how the Angel eyes reflected in the lower intakes but I think that photo looks cool.

By Eurospec it was acquired in Mexico and it had European Market Specs.

KM speedometer

European GPS software.

As a matter of fact the Euros came standard with spare tire.. should have done my homework first before ordering the OEM tires.

yes I agree. the ride quality you are experiencing is coming from the run flat tires.
generally speaking a non RFT tire will provide a lot more performance then a RFT and also be cheaper and the ride softer.

I am going to also suggest that a softer tire is probably easier on the suspension in the long run... more cushion for the pushing (lol)

The rattle may be the turbos warming up... You may want to get that checked out... could be a costly repair.

Thank you for the suggestions.

Any preferred tire and model for the X5M? I see in Tire Rack Pirelli and Continental as options. I had on my E46 Continentals and they did not lasted too long. Actually extremely soft compound. Not sure on the options for this one any experience with Contis for X5M?
