All I can say is to not chase numbers. Different tunes, dynos, fuel, temp, altitude, etc. Compare graphs if you want, but at the end of the day, go by reputation and reviews.

Thanks for the great list, Dinan is overpriced and overrated, just like Renntech except Renntech does generate decent power numbers....just my 2 cents...

Love my Eurocharged tune. They also provide a race gas tune upon request. I have had zero issues and can tell a huge difference. I've ran a 12.2 at the track and have few tell me faster times even with downpipes.

Terry at Burger Tuning has a nice little plug in for the S63 and S63 TU. Dyno graphs on this page: http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showth...t=23156&page=3

I would agree about not chasing numbers. Driveability, throttle response, customer service, and reliability are what you should be worried about. Its why I went with Velos - they are simply the best for 50i and M X5's.

For anyone considering Velos, I am selling my tuner. After speaking with Omar, he will give anyone who buys my tuning device a $700 discount of the tune. The device can be unlocked remotely by Velos, then loaded with a tune for your vehicle and specs all done remotely.

Contact me with any questions. The tuner was used once to install my tune, and has been sitting in a box ever since. If you want to save some cash on the best tune on the market, get at me. You can use the savings for plastic surgery, as that will be the only way to get that smile off your face.

Salotto/Upstate... Can either of you guys comment on fuel mileage after the tune?

I'm so close to pulling the trigger, just trying to make sure I want to take this on... (confrontation of the wife that is... )

definite improvement - 1.5-2 mpg in my experience, assuming you can drive it normally. That won't happen for a little while, though.

Every vehicle I have ever tuned has resulted in increased fuel efficiency.

Yeah I suppose the mileage will actually go DOWN with a tune (heavy foot syndrome) but I'm trying to figure an angle to pitch the whole thing to my wife...

Of course, I just found another X5///M that I really want, so considering a potential swap anyway...

fuel mileage is a great reason to tune, i found that even with more enthusiastic driving, i was able to see a improvement. And if your drive involves some highways, than mileage will defiantly increase

I have Velos, stomp on it all the time with no issues. Didn't notice a difference in fuel but hard to tell. My foot got heavier I can tell you that. My smile got bigger too. I make up excuses to go drive.

Installed Active Autowerks tune in December. It offers a difference that you can feel in the seat of your pants.

Regular mode now feels like "M" mode and "M" mode is stronger still.

Smoother acceleration in all modes.

Shifts are quicker/harder in "M" mode.

Switching to Manual (in M Mode) from D now drops two gears instead of one (pretty sure this is RPM dependent)

Fuel economy went down due to heavy foot syndrome.

Thinking about adding downpipes now. Not sure if the change would offer added performance or if it is (more or less) just for a better sound?

Downpipes make an appreciable gain on these cars. The added sound is a bonus too

I'm going to make it out to the strip in the spring. I have a feeling I can break into the 11's with this thing. Very happy with Velos so far. Much stronger tune compared to what I had previously (dinan).

No sure you have heard ECUPROGRAM (Canadian company). My X5M has an awesome tune and it is fully customized (not pre-made) by a specialist tuner who does tunes for racing/rally DAKAR cars. I am pretty sure other tuners are good too but I only prefer custom tune.

Agree. Got it for my car and is night and day. Added an Eisennman Race exhaust and it really sounds great! Best of all customer service from them was very good. Omar was great as others say.

HP/TQ is so readily available for the S63! Wish I could get past the voided warranty part of the equation.
