Looking to buy, need advice please

Hey everyone,
I'm looking to trade my 06 e90 330i for an 08 or 09 x5 with either the 3.0 or the 4.8 (undecided and haven't driven either yet). I've found some locally, but they do have a bit higher miles -- 80-95k. I'm open to your thoughts on whether its worth it to go with an x with higher mileage. Also, is there anything I should keep an eye out for when looking at them? Lastly, is there a known reliability difference between the 3.0 and the 4.8? I do plan on purchasing an aftermarket extended warranty, but I'd prefer to keep it out of the garage as much as possible as it will be my daily driver and I don't really have a backup.

A higher mileage 4.8 will more than likely require more maintenance than a 3.0. I'd suggest looking into the infamous valve stem seal issue with the 4.8 to get an idea of potential repairs.
