X5M grilles - tri color or no?

I have the stock grilles and want to change to glossy black - question is
  1. Get tri colored slats using vinyl decal
  2. Get slats painted the tri colors by IND
  3. Leave them as black

Thoughts?

Stick with glossy black. But if you really want the tri-color then do vinyl so you can always remove it if you don't like it.

I like the look of black grills with the stripes.

The performance grilles that you order are not the version with the bend that come with the 2013 models.

This was brought up before. I've talked to several dealers, Tischer and IND - the new version from 2013 with the bend in it only came on production vehicles.

I'll make sure they apply thick clear coat, and get them opti-coated, and when driving on fwy, dont follow any pickup truck, truck, bus to minimize possible chipping

Good idea. My latest order of detailing supplies including OC just arrived so I'll apply it before I install it.
