UPDATE on My Case:
BMW refuses to stand behind their product under the warranty period. My vehicle is only 2 years old, still under factory warranty, and also has CPO. BMW offered me 33% of cost of wheel refinishing but I had to use their dealer as the middleman. The dealer quoted $900 for a job that costs $440. So I would pay $602 and they would pay $298. I wrote the CEO a nice letter, I shared all the BMW vehicles I have owned. I currently have 4 BMWs. I even shared that I am looking to purchase a new 7 series. They could care less. I have no idea what kind of computation they did to come up with paying 33% of refinishing. These wheels over time will continue to corrode and will not be safe. I gave BMW a chance to resolve but they did not. This will be my last BMW. They are too concerned with cutting costs. Elimination of transferability of CPO is another great example. |

This is a VERY simple fix. Sand, bondo or metal epoxy, sand flat, spray the wheel with Silber Spray, and then clear coat. I do this to all my wheels and the end result looks factory.

Of course it is an easy fix, of course it is also cheap to go somewhere and have it repaired... But it is the fucking principle! My car has a MSRP of $76k and BMW's OEM didn't do the job right and now we, the customer should pay for it? Even the car still being under warranty? You screw up, you fix it: problem solved. Take responsibility, and people appreciate it. No harm done. You screw and deny any wrongdoing, you piss off your customer and they go somewhere else to buy cars! Well, my SA helped me out... But reading all the other complaints piss me off. |
