2011 X5 35i Sports

I've been noticing that my car has this weird ticking noise when I start the car. It goes away after the car warms up but comes back as I’m accelerating. My dealership is saying that they don’t hear it. Not sure if this noise is normal. Does anyone have a ticking noise when they start the car? Both of my 2008 528 (Lease) and a 2008 535 (Certified BMW) never made this noise.

By the way, this is not a Diesel X5 and I DO NOT put anything lower than the Super Unleaded fuel

Yes. I have it too. It goes away as soon as I leave the garage and it gets going. I wouldn't worry.

So after Test Driving three X5's and having the BMW Tech ride along, it has been determine that I had an issue with my Exhaust, The Exhaust has been replaced and my car is ready today. Hopefully, this resolves the issue.

Sorry for my previous post, it was not a ticking noise, it was actually a rattling noise.

Picked up my car with a whole new exhaust. I still have the same rattling noise. Sitting in front of the service rep.

Service rep and foreman suggest that we wait till the district mechanic comes in so that he could determine where the noise was coming from. Foreman told me that he did not want to take responsibility for the repair that was going to be done to my car. From what the foreman indicated, the noise was coming from the turbo.

Bunch of bs from foreman and service rep. Smells like a lemon to me. Regardless of if it's a lemon, I'm still buying another BMW!!!

Just got a call back form the Dealership. Rattling noise is coming from the wastegate actuator. the tech is saying that it's normal. I think that BS. From what i'm reading, the 07-08 335's have the same issue on the forums.

Is anyone else hearing this noise?
