X6 35i or X6 50i ???

Did an all day test drive of an X6 35i, (also drove a X6 50i a month ago). LOVED it! Want one. Any recommendations on which engine and anything else for that matter?!

Every X6 I see is always a 3.5i. Dare to be different.

I almost bought a new 2013 x35 purely based on the lower cost. Instead, I found a very slightly used 2012 x50. Boy was I lucky! I love the growl of the V8 as well as the extra power. And the 8 speed auto transmission is smooth as can be. Would be hard for me to consider the 6 cylinder based on my last six months of owning the V8.

both good varients but I have to agree, go for the V8 if you can find one in your price range, you will be happier in the long run. The turbo I6 (N55) holds its own but the V8 is in a different league!

No X6 diesels for the US Market. You can however watch them get built and roll off the assembly line in SC

There are lots of threads about the options and/or packages that are must have. Mucho discussion. Here are the facts..
1. The vehicle does just fine with the i6 and probably handles better with it.
2. The gas mileage with the i6 is better, although not crazy better, just a bit.
3. The sound of the V8 is amazing. One poster said his X5 50i sounded better than his X5M in almost all conditions. It is intoxicating and I honestly upgraded to the V8 for the sound alone. I LOVE IT.

NOV & DEC are typically good for purchasing.
Currently you have: $1500 rebate ( Holiday cash ), $750 rebate ( owner loyalty ) good until Jan 2nd 2013.

Its now called the M-Performance Pkg. You get similar equipment as the old M-Sport pkg, like the 20" Wheels, sport seats, trim.......PLUS also 20 more ponies. 320HP, 0.2 second quicker from 0 - 60.

Let's go! Alas, have not bought a BMW from a Chicago area dealer since 2005 (I got tired of their games). I bought my last two new BMWs from Brett Midgley at Autohaus BMW in St. Louis. He doesn't play games, tells you exactly what he is making and always offers to drive the car up for you (which I never let him ).

His email is brett.midgley@bmwautohaus.com and his phone# is 314.880.8416. Tell him Doug sent ya

He is also the one who insisted I find a way to get the 1M even though he didn't have one to sell me. By far the most fun I've ever had driving a car and yes, I blame Brett for that too.

Yes if you have a vert that you want to trade in, march would be a good time and you will get more then you would right now.

If this will be your only toy, then get the 50i...if just your DD, the 35i does just fine. Both are great rides.
