N63 considerably different. At least mine is. I have the first gen 2010 n63. Here are the jegs one way valves. Open them up. You’ll see a small white flapper. I tweaked the spring so it just hangs there. I marked the top of valve so I knew where the top of flapper was when I installed.

S63 isnt the same as this N63 setup

Folks - the E70 S63 (X5M), compared to the E70 N63 (X5 5.0i) has a connected bypass between the driver and passenger sides. I followed this entire thread, and I see where all the connections are going, but with an S63 for the same years (2010 to 2013), it's different.

Has anyone installed Sophisticated Redneck setup on an S63 and eliminated the bypass across the top between the two sides? Any issues with it?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Joe

No need for the crossover tube when you install the catchcans, I sent ya a PM with more info and will dig up the pics on where to cut the CCV lines on the s63 and send to you and post them in this thread also for reference for anyone else thinking of the mod.

Below are pics on where to cut the CCV tubes on the M. From there you can install the -8an male fittings as mentioned earlier in this thread. You can use a 3/8" npt tap to make it easier to thread in. Make sure you use a 3/8" npt tap and not just a normal 3/8" tap. There is a huge difference between the two.

N63 warning

Just wanted everyone to be aware that the aftermarket replacement parts are defective. The original part has a breather hole next to the one way flapper. This breather hole is missing on the aftermarket parts sold everywhere. Please see image of the original part I uploaded here....

If I am reading this right we only need about 6ft of 8an and 4ft of the 6an correct the links are showing like 16ft

also is it critical to run the Vac gauge at road speed? can it just be set for idle? or to many variable? just trying to piece together everything..

buy from Sophisticated Redneck and get it done right, otherwise, you're ging to do a ton of back and forth with a range of opinions, Troy is the only dude that did all the testing on vacuum and proper pressure balancing, he makes the kits now, with special M mounts that are CNC'd

He is busy, working on all the machining for the new CCV setup that allows no plastic adapters. you can make the current version without the nice machined adapters but I'm waiting for his skilled work to be done. See pics, this is how much he's doing for the CCV setup for the valve cover adapter for the N/S63, it should be ready in a week or two, once he gets a few sets anodized black along with the mounts.

along with video of how its made:

Along with the mount for the Catch Can's themselves too.

Give me 2-3 weeks and he can make more, i assure you its worth the small wait.
