Lol at your missing cover piece. Where did you put it when you were doing all this? Check all your drawers in your garage? Or maybe it fell down behind the bumper?
Yeah Greg's work on the engine cover is really something else. It is as oem as it comes paint quality wise. It's also hard to convey this in my for sale thread. Hopefully the cover has a better chance of selling now that someone else has his work on their car. |

Probably the last resort is to ask at parts department while in for service next time unless somebody can point me in to right direction! It’s not a big deal but it would be nice to have! I hope my “review” on Greg’s work will help u out selling it! I would def. buy it again! (but I already have one) |

LEDs came in today! I didn't realize how huge those things are! They don't look as big on the car! I'm pretty happy so far as they glass look very clear and no issues on the body as far as I can tell (I see one little scratch on the bottom of the glass on one of the headlights but I don't think it's gonna be visible once installed, it's where u can see cables from outside bottom) I need to figure out what else I will need in order to proceed. I know I'll need to get 2 LED modules and footwell module but besides that I'm trying to figure out if I need socket for corner bulbs which I got from Bimmian, I will also probably need top tab (removable) and do I need some additional hardware? I assume all main elements for low beam and high beam are there as I see everything is connected inside.

Congrats! If you take pics of the back and bottom we'll be able to help you out more. In general though the realoem diagram will give all the parts you need. Just check off what you have with what you don't. Ordering the fastener kit is a good idea as well just to make sure you are not missing anything. It's on the same diagram. Basically it's better to have more than you need before you begin. It's too beast of a project to put on hold for not having a fastener or two.

I'm adding few more pictures and list I put together from getBMWparts, let me know what u think... on another note I still can't locate that stupid cover First pic is the scratch I mentioned, I know it's hard to see but u might be able to spot it (from top left down), I do believe it's shouldn't be visible once installed! The list: $37.43 electrical, front lamps, headlamp components, headlamp assy mount bracket 2013-14 Left $37.43 electrical, front lamps, headlamp components, headlamp assy mount bracket 2013-14 Right $7.90 electrical, front lamps, headlamp components, signal lamp bulb socket 2013-14 Left $7.90 electrical, front lamps, headlamp components, signal lamp bulb socket 2013-14 Right $22.21 electrical, front lamps, headlamp components, repair kit 2013-14 Left $22.21 electrical, front lamps, headlamp components, repair kit 2013-14 Right $450.14 electrical, front lamps, headlamp components, module 2013-14 Left $450.14 electrical, front lamps, headlamp components, module 2013-14 Right $374.67 FOOTWELL MODULE 3 Everything comes together to $1,410.03 + shipping and handling... Also I will need to get about 16 blind rivets (not sure what is exact part number, I've seen couple different usually under number 2 or 11, for wheel arch diagram) about .50c each Last edited by boneca; 07-23-2016 at 12:51 AM.. |

Your new LED headlights will be so worth it when you are done!
Exclusive to X5M and X6 only! These are rare headlights as the LEDs were only offered as a upgrade during last year of production. Updates the front of our trucks to the current LED headlight design. *These are unavailable for other X5 models. |

LED
After 9 hours in the shop the LEDs are finally installed (I’m glad that I didn’t attempt to install them myself as this work would probably take me much longer and I’m not even talking about electrical stuff, the mechanical parts, such as removing wheel well liners, headlights etc., was much harder job than I anticipated), unfortunately this came with a price but I expected it, although I didn’t pay as much as I was helping along the way. The shop I used using Snap On diagnostic tool and unfortunately the tool couldn’t write to footwell for some reason, so for now I’m running original footwell module and planning to go to different place to have new module install and code it. As of right now, I have low beams and turn signals working, the high beams and adaptive are not working, also day running lights doesn’t seems to be working as well so running with low beams.

Awesome! Time for some brakes and exhaust now.
Or at the very least an awesome vent gauge to keep track of your beast's vitals... |
