Running Boards

Can someone tell me if running boards can be ordered with the M-Package? In the current bmwusa build your own site, it does not allow you to do so? I assume that is the same for the 2011 LCI, can someone confirm, and is there a reason for that? Thx.

I believe that the M package changes the molding around the car including the area where the running boards go so therefore, they cannot put the running boards on as an option with the M package. I was looking for the running boards too with my order, but I opted to get the M package instead of getting the Sport Activity package with the running boards.

Gents, sorry but I have a follow-up question: can someone tell me how the "Aerodynamic Kit" differs from the exterior moldings that come with the M-Package - I am sure it is night and day, but on bmwusa it is unclear what exacyly the Kit is....Thx again.

The M Sport mouldings are in place of the standard mouldings. the Aero kit is an add on (and far fewer parts). See here for the Aero kit: http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...d-weekend.html

You'll have to scroll down a bit as there are lots of pics.

Thanks RossMoss - if the Aero Kit is what is shown in the last three photos of the first page of the link you provided, I have to say it is not bad....

A better look would be to paint all black plastic pieces in body color. I wish I have a pic to share, but it looks hot.

Looks good in Deep Sea Blue as well. No heated steering wheel option though?
