How to change wiper blades?

I am having trouble with changing the wiper blades on my X5. I looked in the manual, but it doesn't really give any details.

Last time I did this, I had 2 workers come out of the auto parts store and it took all three of us about 40 minutes to figure out how to get the old blades off and the new ones on. The thing that was a problem is that it would not come off the post. We had to use a variety of tools to get the old blade off and more tools to squeeze the new blades on.

Any tips on how to do this correctly?

Ok I guess you didn't read my post, only the title. So it took the use of tools to get the blades off. It was really difficult to do. And even harder to get the new ones on. We had to use pliers to squeeze it down onto the post.

I don't know, after seeing the video you posted I'm wondering if I need to get the wiper blade holders replaced.

Why not just get new assemblys instead of just the inserts? These are not made to replace the inserts....

I think i paid like $30-40 from the dealer, not worth the effort to change the inserts

I don't know proper car terminology, so we were probably talking about the same thing. Thanks!

Much cheaper

I just paid more than double that price at the other euro parts place. Damn $16.65 is cheap and genuine BMW. I got the VALEO brand, the BMW ones were even more @ $46.86 I could have bought two sets.
