Injector Cleaner

Does anyone know what is the best brand of injector cleaner to use for a 2008 X5 SI?

Yes, I'm another Techron fan. The first time I used it on my X5M, I felt the difference it made right away. Now I put a bottle in every few months.

Try Lucas Fuel Treatment, it's petro based and doesn't have the harsh chemicals found in other brands that might destroy your o-rings. Just one tank before every oil change is good. It doesn't make sense to use it weekly as most quality fuel has a bit of cleaning agent in it already.

I haven't used any fuel treatment for any of my BMWs. I just gas at BP/Shell - high volume gas stations.

I use Lucas in all my cars because it's petrolium based and causes less wear on seals and gaskets. I use the oil stabilizer and the fuel treatment. You can definitely notice the difference.

In some of my older cars, I use the Z-Max micro-lube treatment every oil change ($30 - $40 for the set).

Hope that helps.

I wouldn't use Lucas Oil stabilizer on new BMWs. Lucas oil stabilizer looks like maple syrup (made of petro, very thick) and it'll make your oil heavier/stickier. Using injector cleaners once a year should be good, a couple weeks before your oil change.

I love Z-Max informmercials, haven't heard about them for awhile. Maybe it has something to do with false advertising???

Thank you guys for all the input. I was trying to avoid going back to the dealer if I could do it myself.
