Thumbs up LOVE my New X5M -- Just a couple quibbles

The Navigation Display still does not automatically turn to night mode at night! I wish BMW would address this with a software update so that whenever the headlights came on, night mode would also come on, like on my 2012 X3 and 2011 550Msport. (BMW I hope you're listening!)

This product is an absolute beast to drive, it can be very smooth and refined and it can outright be a hellfire bastard. It's just so much fun! The best birthday present I every bought myself!

Insanely envious of LED headlights..

There is an option through programming that will have Day/Night mode automatic as a selection in the options. I haven't been able to get it to work on the latest code base (nor has anyone else for that matter that i am aware of).

So there is an option that already exists for Automatic Day/Night mode? I would be so happy!!!

This is just beautiful.
Btw, your 3rd pic shows 426 to next fill...can you really get that much for easy commute?

Damn I am lucky to get 230-250 lol, I will be honest I am rarely driving "easily"
I think I fill up every 3-4 days lately!

Well I squeezed one full tank out at the 330 mark, so Im sure if you don't goose it too much you can get a fairly ok range. It is a super-thirsty beast though and so powerful the you just want to press the fun pedal. My X3 3.5 gets about 380 per fill, so that will likely be the road tripper. My 550 also yields a good range.

I had to change the settings in mine to go to night mode....it's easy enough...just navigate through the menu and adjust it.

As far as the MPG or driving distance, when I am driving economically (which is VERY rare) I can get up to 450mpt if I am on the interstate or not in stop and go traffic.

Well I noticed today in my new X3 that the Day/Night Mode has an Automatic Setting (see Picture).

My far more expensive (see picture) X5M does not have an automatic night mode (see picture) the nav screens show different options. The X5M is a 2013 model, that literally just rolled off the truck last Saturday when I picked it up.

Does anyone know or suspect that BMW may give us some form of an automatic night mode that does not require user intervention through push buttons?

I would be beyond pleased if this option became available to me. I really like night mode at night because the colors/saturation/contrast of the screen are greatly changed and optimized for nighttime driving.
