Does your M spin when launching?
So I tried the launch mode the other evening on my new to X6M (2012-38,000kms). I can't seem to get below 5.02 seconds. I did as directed, the checkered flag comes up, but it definitely doesn't leave the line "hard". I was seeing 2500rpm, but when I release the brake it doesn't accelerate much better than mashing the pedal from a standstill. I'm installing a tune tonight, but wanted some good baseline numbers first. All acceleration data is being captured with a "Vbox". Notoriously accurate.
Any thoughts or suggestions. Theoretically I should be quicker with my aftermarket tire and rim setup. I dropped 10lvs/corner over the stock rears. |

I've sometimes felt that it doesn't launch as hard as it should, no idea why.
Sometimes I think it might be the way I am holding and/or releasing the pedals, or that it felt faster when I first got the car. But I don't have a "vbox" so it's all seat of the pants. It definitely doesn't spin the wheels though, if that's what you mean. Just seems like it takes a second to get going. And again, seems like if I hold the brakes harder/firmer, it launches better. No idea if that's true or not. |

I'm wondering if I got a dud... I know some had poor performance due to bad injectors.(mine is a 2012, I thought injector issues were in earlier models) I've done several runs and the best I'm seeing is 13.5 102mph in the 1/4. I am at 3300ft above sea level, which isn't awful but our DA (density altitude) equivalent is quite often close to 6000ft.

^ If you have a vbox, we can try it on my car for you to reference with, I think the launch is pretty hard when done right, altho the car is really smooth when it picks up speed that it doesn't feel significant. Plus your other car will make everything feel slow unless it's something above a UGR stage 3
Did you get the DP installed already? If so i want to hear how different it is and how it sounds. |

The downpipes go on this Wed. I have a different tune, after they go on.
I didn't launch it tonight after tuning it, but it's definitely strong through the mid range. You're right. The GTR has me very jaded. I'm still impressed with X6M though. I might make a trip to mission this summer. The GTR should have an 8.9 in it, at sea level. |

I might not have mine back. Debating sending the calipers out for paint. Deciding right now. I'll be without it for a week, minimum. I'll bring the car and Vbox though. You guys can do a few pulls.

You should definitely see quicker times than 13.5. What tires do you have now and are you still on 20s? The guys with 22s tend to run slower for some reason. The DA does factor in but I still think you should be quicker.
Any runs with your tune on? when i was stock i ran anywhere from a 12.5-12.8 107-109 traps. I have broken the tires loose using L/C on occasion.
