Warranty Expiring Soon-Suggested Dealer Checks???
Hi Folks: My warranty expires in three months. While everything is fine with my '11 3.5i, 47k miles, I'd appreciate suggestions for my upcoming last dealer visit. What, if anything, can I have them check for replacement if there's really nothing wrong at the moment? I recall from my prior 5-series that, although I didn't feel anything wrong, tie rods and other suspension components needed occasional replacement. Should I ask them to check suspension components for wear/replacement, or will they not check unless I give specific symptoms (which don't currently exist)? What else would you suggest I have them check? Thanks in advance!

I have tried this approach before but with little luck. If they cannot replicate it or diagnose is, they wont proactively replace anything. I tried it with the tie rods and the excessive black soot by the exhaust. They sent me on my way.

Thanks so much. I figured they'd be interested in the work since they bill it back anyway, but I guess there's more (or less) to it than that.

That being said, if it's a real issue, they will replace it no questions asked. I have had a lot of interior bits replaced that were starting to flake or peel. I had a tiny rattle in the door, they fixed that also.
