How to make X6 35i exhaust louder?
X6 35i
Besides purchasing a whole cat back exhaust system (which is quite expensive), What can I do to make my exhaust louder? Should I have some restrictions removed from the stock exhaust (ex. Resonators)? BTW, I already changed to Borla S-type axlebacks, it actually didn't do much, little difference from stock almost unnoticeable. Any tips? |

do a google search on "x6 35i exhaust golf tee"
it's a cheap upgrade but only seems to add growl on low end.

I had the OEM trapezoidal pipe kit installed and that effectively made it louder, which I wasn't expecting. So much so that people would routinely ask me if something was wrong with my car. I think most people don't expect a girl to own a car with loud exhaust.
When I asked my SA about it later he said that the kit removes the diverter (is that what it's called?). Anyway, I think the effect is the same as the golf tee mod. Those pipes were great and only cost ~$750 to purchase and install. |

Change your mufflers.. The stock catback exhaust on the 35i has no resonators. They are a straight through midpipe. I just changed my mufflers and i have a very noticeble difference. If you want loud and cheap, i would go for muffler delete. I tried that though and i couldnt stand the relentless drone at 2000 rpm... Good luck
