Hi All,

Just wanted to start a journal of my ride... Placed an order for a 2013 AW/Cinn X5 3.5 a few weeks ago. Car won't arrive till mid November but the modding begin! I have the premium package with 19s... Not too content with those, I picked up a used set of OEM BMW Style 215s in 21" and boy were they curbed... With the assistance of Thomas Esposito from Espos Powdercoating, these bad boys will look brand spanking new!

Was never a fan of black wheels so Tom will be making these "Speedway Gray with Mirror Clear."

In addition, I'll be adding the OEM Fender Flares and OEM Black Kidneys.

Keep posted for the updated photos.

Just picked up my wheels today... Tom did an excellent job, to say the least.

how much did you get them for?

to me they look better in black but thats just me.

i was just about to get these too, as a wheel/tire package at the dealer as they were on for a pretty good price, but glad i didnt. it seems winter tires for 21"s are quite a bit more expensive. just bought a set of OEM 214's in gloss black on ebay for 2749 shipped.!!!

Too low to disclose... LOL I got an amazing deal for them.

I dislike black wheels because they remind me of steelies and hub caps.

There are only 2 tire selections available for 21" wheels in our sizes. And they're dumb expensive!!!

You got a pretty good deal as well. I want 214s as well since tires are way cheaper and I hate RFTs.

Nice color choice. I actually like the color of my rims after a layer of brake dust covers it. Sort of like the color of yours haha.

did you put them on the car yet? I bought the same setup last month but am waiting until springtime to put them on. I'm excited to see them mounted, as I was quite impressed by the width of the tires.

i think ill like the black 214's just as much anyway. they definately dont look like hub caps, since they are a high gloss black.

I haven't picked up the car yet, will be doing so on 11/21 and heading straight to the tint shop to get my front windows tinted. Hopefully I can mount the wheels over Thanksgiving and install my fender flares.

Yeah, they don't really look like hub caps but I just don't like black wheels on my car...

Updates! Picked up the car and headed to Shades of Gray in PA to get my front windows done in 30% along with front windshield in 50%. Pictures don't really do it's justice. Installed the fender flares as well. It was cake once you drill out the rivets. I repeat, DRILL, don't even bother hammering it out. Had my friend code my car as well. Auto open/close of mirrors and tail gate, DVD in motion and removed seat belt chime. I forgot to ask him to do the euro blinkers and digital speedometer, next time! On for the pix!

Drill??! I just took a small screwdriver and a hammer and tapped the pushpins in...then the rivet is easily removed. Glad it worked out though!

It didn't work for all of them, it did on a few so I just said, F this! Let me drill these suckers out!

What a difference the fender flares and some wheels can make.

I know you you enjoyed a "too good to be true" deal on getting the wheels redine, but how much would it normally cost?

It came standard on the Premium package on the 3.5. I don't like it...

I got the wheels at a low price. Not the powder coat job. It is around $125-175/wheel depending on condition and finish you want.
