2006 X5 Door Handle Malfunction

Has anyone dealt with a Driver's side door handle malfunction on a 2006 X5? The door will open from the inside but not from the outside. The handle seems to not be retracting all of the way back flush. It is almost as if something has disconnected internally.

Same thing with my 2005 X5

yeaup, its the inside door handle carrier. part # 51-21-8-243-615 for the older style X5 E53 up to 2006.
