Got the X5M Deserved its own thread!!BMW of Bakersfield!!!!
I told you guys I was getting the X5M today and I did. But this was such a deal I have to give you guys some details. First of all the truck is OVER the top!!!! I have never been so enamoured with so much quality and just STUFF!!!!
The soft close doors to the screen to Sirius to the seats! THE SEATS are the most comfy EVER. So I get there and I see the 2 2011 X5Ms one is 99K has every option. The other is 91K no options but has 20" Chrome wheels. So I ask Ali (the sales manager) about the wheels. He says No Problem Paul, I will throw them on yours no charge. THEN my son drove our 4.8is down there because they were going to buy it from me and sell it to my son. But Ali figures out we could gift it to him , so he says "Look Paul, I screwed that up, let me take your sons truck wash it and fill it up"!!!!!! You just dont get that kind of service anywhere!! And this is the FIFTH TIME he has done this (BMW of Bakerfied) for me. A friend of mine works there and he told me Ali would rather sell a TON of cars for a little profit than squeeze every Dollar out of the customer they can( Ala Porsche) Here is an aside: I called several Porsche dealers Friday telling them I am buying a X5M and if they want to sell me a Cayenne do it now. So a Porsche guy calls me and tells me its hard to match with a 2011. I tell him I know were a 2011 Cayenne Turbo is, and he tells me he can get it. It Stickered for $107K, the guy tells me he can get it for me for $1000 off MSRP!!!! I said "are YOU KIDDING???? I am talking $10K back of INVOICE and your telling me you can get me a 2011 Cayenne Turbo for ONE thousand Off!? End of Conversation. Anyway I am just blown away by this truck. Its freaking amazing. Then get this, I get home and I go out for a short spin, because my wife drove back and I did a couple quick sprints and My hair piece was torn off the top of my head, AND I DONT WEAR a HAIRPEICE!! then I get home and I figure out I dont even have it in POWER MODE!!!!! Anyway blown away by the truck Pics tomorrow and have a great weekend!!!!! BTW my 21 YO was stoked to get my 2006 4.8iS too!

Yea I like the black with the chrome wheels. Some guys like em some guys hate em.
what I DONT like is the flat silver finish on the stock wheels. Since they were free it really sets off the sapphire black. Nova How do I get the rear trunck close with the fob, and the window stuff?

Good story and congrats on your purchase. I have a BMW and P car and you cannot compare the 2 brands when it comes to sales. BMW sells more cars in a month than P sells in a year. When I was shopping last summer for a 911, some dealers did not return calls. No biggie, I just moved on until I found a dealer that was a good fit with my style. Some dealers didn't want to negotiate at all. No problem, see you later. I happened to find a dealer pretty local (20 miles, but not the closest) who understands me and we have a great relationship. Can't let these dealers get you upset.
Let's see some pics...... PS - any chance you can return the chrome wheels.... lol.. |

To Paul GT3: all I can say is you are driving the Beast in a great location which serves almost as your own private track. Perfect for this kind of vehicle! Enjoy the "religious experience"!
P.S. Let us know if you can work out over 12mpg in that environment!! (LOL) |

I'm going the other way....have 41K on my X5M and a CTT on order.
It's great to see your enthusiasm on these Boards! No doubt that BMW Dealers are more Customer Service oriented than Porsche. If they were any nicer, they would be selling Lexus. |

Shaolin, by the time all was said and done, it was close to $20k off INCLUDING the CHROME wheels.
here is the deal on the chrome: The vehicle is BIG. LOTS of BLACK from the side. The flat silver wheels are not enough to break up all the black. The chrome works better in making some contrast. Just my opinion wouldnt do that to my 911. Vitaman, why would u go back to the CTT given the price dif and performance gap??

Prefer the ride (especially over rough roads) and handling of the CTT. The raw power is also more available unless you hit M and Sport.....that evens things out or puts the ball more in the X's court. Don't like having to do it Every time.
Also at 13-14 mpg and a relatively small tank, I only get 220 miles between fill ups. Also like the Lane Change Assist and Adaptive Cruise. The price tag is hard to justify but I've been saving up. And finally, I found a Porsche Dealer that is as nice as my BMW Dealer and as you know, that is not easy to do! |
