Anyone running xHP stage1?
My X5 35d is my daily driver but I am not happy with stock transmission tune so I am looking to tune it. I have been searching for best tune for comfort and I found only xHP is offering stage1 but I cannot find any feedback on this tune. It seems everyone is just going with either stage3 or custom tune (DWR, ST..et)
Looking for feedback from owners who have stage 1 from xHP? Would you recommend me going for this tune? I am not really not looking for sportiness or aggressive. Just comfort for daily driving. |

I wouldn't waste your money on Stage 1, go straight to at least stage 2. I ran stage 1 for a week or two before I went stage 2. I now run DWR and is super smooth, but kicks in manual which is perfect! The X5 is my DD.
As a side note, all official xhp tunes disable the transmission cold start warmup routine which is worth the money just by itself! If you get a tune from DWR you must request it and costs extra. |

I'm DUDMD stage 2, and I got Rod Sutphin's tune. It's polished, smooth, and does what I want it to do without me touching the gearshift, 99.5% of the time. I tow 6000lbs with it in D mostly, sometimes using manual mode to engine brake down hills. I drive 100 miles a day for my commute, and it's great. In sport mode, it has great sporty shift points, and decently aggressive downshifts. Wringing it out in sport mode make the darn thing a rocketship.
