How to get a "deeper" sound on X6M

There is a cheap solution for increasing the sound of my X6M without spending thousands of dollars?
I just want to hear the sound more "deep" like for example the sound of the Mercedes G63 AMG which sounds great even in idle
Any tips will be appreciated!

Find a good exhaust shop that will fabricate a replacement catback for you with new muffler or mufflers. Magnaflow should make something that fits. Maybe.

Cost $500-$800 including mufflers.

Here: http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/universalmuffler.asp

^ That's what I'm doing with my 50i. I ordered some 997 tips online and am having a shop fab up a Magnaflow exhaust. I'll post results in a couple weeks when it's all done.

Good advice, but down here in Costa Rica, there are no good muffler shops like in the US

motex, quite a few people on here running Megan exhaust. Check out the e70 general section and search for the thread on that (theres vids and reviews)... Also another guy on here with a melbourne red x5m who straight piped it and IMO it sounded pretty good (can't find that thread though, think it was in the e70 section as well).

straight pipes...that has got to be pretty raspy.

I hate raspy V8s.

What will happen if I buy the Megan Racing exhaust that comes without the vacuum valves like the one shown below?

You can just plug the vacuum lines with a golf tee. This is actually called the 'Golf Tee Mod' in 3 series land.

The valve is simply to reduce drone in the cabin at 55-65mph. You will not throw a code.

Please let us know how that new cat back sounds. I'm contemplating it.

Still not ready to buy it, mostly because I will have to pay freight charges and import duties that at the end probably will double the initial cost, my main concern is what happens if I don't like the sound?.........tough decision
