Velos DesignWerks ECU Flash

Hey everyone...just wanted to give a public thanks to Omar @ Velos.
I got my flash from him with handheld. A couple short emails later to get the new files and I am up and running on pretty impressive software.

These guys are true professionals and very customer service oriented

This beast is now on 'Roids! What is incredible is that even though I am up substantially in HP (675) and torque (635lb-ft)...it seems to get better gas mileage. Now obviously I didn't remotely consider gas mileage when I bought this car but it is an added bonus.

I still have OEM exhaust and downpipes but this tune has changed the sound quite a bit as well. It is a great product with a great support staff and I recommend them.

Thanks Omar and the rest of the Velos team!

Just tune...exhaust is next though. Not sure I can go with the catless downpipes in VA due to emissions. Thoughts anyone?

How is the Velos tune getting that much horsepower ?

ESS + Dinan + full catless exhaust don't get that much

The Hamann exhaust may get that but it has a turbo upgrade

Do you have a dyno graph?

Omar?

That is not at the wheels...Omar can supply the Dyno chart. Where is the ESS + Dinan + full catless exhaust stand in regards to HP and Torque?

I would like to see a graph too. Most of these tune gains 70-80whp at the mid range and only 20-30whp at peak. 675hp is alot from just a tune.

That is correct. Most of the power is in the mid range with these TT cars. You have to follow the factory torque curve to prevent any premature failure from the turbos. Definitely makes for an improved driving experience. Will be putting the 2013 on the dyno pretty soon and will post updated charts, etc.

So it doesn't produce 675hp?

Well I am not the software engineer or the dyno operator but I was told that there is a 120hp and 135 lb-ft gain after the flash. Now obviously that is not at the wheels but if the X5M and X6M are stock 555hp and 500 lb-ft (and I never claimed to be no mathematician) then the numbers should be 675hp and 635 lb-ft.

Don't take my uneducated guess into account...jsut ask Omar and he can break it all down for you.

All I know is this thing is fuggin fast...and sounds lovely! Exactly what I paid for.

yes but the 120hp gain is from the mid-range, for example, let say your stock tune produce 400hp at 3.5k rpm, but with the velos tune, you should have put down 520hp at 3.5k rpm which is more useful power band on everyday driving
