iDrive reports "speed limit exceeded" at 2-3mph?

I test drove a 2007 4.8i today and every time I started accelerating from a stop it would flash "limit" on the dash and on the iDrive display it would say "speed limit exceeded." This happened every time I started moving from a dead stop at only a couple mph. The salesman thought it was some setting in the iDrive, but he wasn't sure where. This doesn't seem right to me. Can anybody chime in?

Setting in iDrive. It has been there forever. Not sure why your salesman did not know about it.

that is correct, go in the navigation option and then to Limit to change it to a desired speed - mine is set at 85mph

Thanks gents - this was at a MB dealership so I'm not surprised he didn't know. He kept using MB names for all the features - cracked me up.

Looking for a pre-owned - less than 10 in the entire area and one happened to be at a MB dealer.
