wife wants me to sell my x5m

forum,

my wife wants me to sell my 2012 x5m. i hardly drive it and she wants it out. i'm not sure what i should sell it for. below are the mods and stats on the car. let me know what you guys think. i was thinking around $65,000.

2012 x5m with 28,000 miles
Alpine White / Black
Fully loaded except for rear entertainment and the front-end side view cameras

vorsteiner front cf spoiler
vorsteiner rear cf diffuser
vorsteiner exhaust
vorsteiner 22" 3-peice wheels with polished outer lip / gunmetal centers
H&R springs
ind painter front / rear reflectors
oem clear front reflectors
full LED light kit
k&n air filters
2 keys
bmw sunshade
ESS tune
extended warranty

i think that's it. it was the vorsteiner promo car.

Part it out, most bang for your buck but 65K is very fair. car max would buy that without a doubt for high 50s so don't go below 65K. I would say list it on ebay with the title "Vorenstien addition X5M" sweet car where were you last year?

The way it works in our free market: you can get for it whatever an able buyer is willing to pay for it:

1. April 2015 trade-in (Manheim): $50K to $52K

2. Dealer "asking" lot price (with CPO): $62K to $65K. What will a dealer sell it for? Bottom line will be somewhere between $56K and $58K, depending on deal structure (trade, lease, financing etc etc).

3. Private sale? Somewhere between 1. and 2.

Your $65K is on the very high end, without the benefit of a CPO ...

I think the X5M itself is probably worth $57K-$59K on it own. Now you have to determine what the modifications are worth (used).

well, i have the i8 on order. i was going to flip the i8 and get into something else but wife won't let me have both the i8 and x5m.

i was thinking about putting my car back to stock. guess it really comes down to finding the right buyer.

i believe you have to get the vorsteiner roundel from an authorized dealer.

you can actually put bmw oem leds or aftermarket ones. up to owner.

Sold my '13 X5M to Carmax 2 weeks ago; they gave me $60K and listed it for $66K

My truck had 18K miles and didn't have a mark on it - well equipped but stock.
