Dodge Demon - WANT!
Wish BMW made a crate and got creative with their GTS. Even if they do not the crate idea sounds great: http://www.motorauthority.com/news/1...he-dodge-demon

Are we taking bets on the lowest mileage on the odometer when totaled? IIRC, the lowest figure for the Hellcat was 18 miles. This could beat that.

Love to see this thing exiting cars&coffee
I like these crazy nice products, but its not a segment bmw will ever operate in I think. BMW makes cars that handle well on a track or twisty canyon road (within their respective segments).

Considering it comes with actual drag radials on all 4 corners....people shouldn't be crashing them that quickly as compared to the Hellcat which had regular 275 street tires. But those are actually 2 sets of drag radials for the owners not really meant for daily street duty.
The Demon Crate is so the owner can get the car ready for the drag strip, as the article said. Dodge blew it out of the water with this car. Since they can't make something to compete with the 1LE or the ZL1 or Shelby in the twisties. I believe production is underway now. Something like 3k are being made. |

I think the Challenger is one of the coolest cars on the road today. I like them so much that I walk an entire block out of my way to work every morning to pass by a building where the building engineer parks his, and it's just a regular SRT. The street presence this car has is like few others. I love them...

So how much does a car like this cost?
Because I think special editions like this one will become quite collectable. The crate is fugly (the wooden box that is),but will of cours be collectable as a packeage to the car.

the American stuff is coming on so strong these days. They are filling niches that everyone else has either abandoned or priced them selves out of the hands of 'regular' people, and even people who can afford them don't want to DD them for fear they will get messed up.

Remember when the motor trend guys couldn't come close to their 1/4 mile numbers? Need some pretty optimal conditions with FCA's half baked launch control I guess.
http://www.motortrend.com/cars/dodge...-drive-review/ But hey, it's still damn cool. I'd prefer the ZL1 to this still....road course capable car, comes in a manual trans AND still runs *just* a 11.3-11.5 1/4 mile. Tasty. |

Like I mentioned before, I believe they are building 3000 2018 models that should be in production now. |

^for european standards thats dirt cheap (where I live an M3/M4 starts at $130k so...) but for US standards maybe not the real bargain.
Its always difficult what becomes the real collectors item and what not. 3000 is still quite a lot and chances are they'll all be preserved. If it would be a car that had a production run of 100.000 and 3000 would be preserved (in say 20-30 years) that would I think be more valuable (as in rise in value to its base price). Thats a bit the case with the e30 m3 and such I think.

Why do you guys even drive a european car if you can get a ZL1 for under 65k and gas is dirt cheap?
