Sports Seats That Stab You = Not In the Brochure

Hmmmm.

So I see why you guys like the multi-contour seats... Because it doesn't cut you by design.

The sports seats are actually pretty comfy. I heard they hurt your everything if you go for a long drive, but I'm a local-drivin' type of guy. I can see how they're uncomfortable if you're a little thick in the butt, but for reasons beyond me, the thigh extension/support has a sharp metal railing that cuts your legs if you're wearing shorts. This wasn't on my E92 sport seats.

Someone tell me why my life sucks.

Pics of said harbinger of death included:

I have a similar feature on the leg support. Also, there's an easily accessible metal knife edge below the seat in the front corner.

I think it has something to do with WWII, and the Germans losing.

How do you get your leg under the seat to get cut?

Not really under, so much as next to it. The thigh support isn't wide enough and/or the cushion/leather surrounding the rail isnt thick enough and I sometimes move my legs to the side.

I wonder if you/they can put some of that 'stick on plastic foamy stuff' on it (that's the technical term you know). Kinda like they spray on the bed of pickup trucks. It would stay on and it wouldn't scratch you anymore -- unless you were getting really aggressive I guess.

Or just cover the metal edge with several layers of electrical tape. Or strip a small wire and slice the tube into a "C" section to fit over the sharp edge.

Or stick a piece of gum over it.
