My uncles 2012 x5 50i gets about 10-12 mpg in the city depending on how they drive. My x5m gets about 8 mpg city. I say you are about normal if your accelerating hard between lights

It's NYC, people
When you spend more time on the light than actually driving this is what happens I used to get 12-13 barelly in NYC on my 335i When i moved out of the city it went to 20+ mpg in the city It's all about average speed guys |

I just did a road trip that was 2600 miles from Los Angeles to and through Colorado, and back by way of the Grand Canyon. Average mpg was 18.8 for the entire trip, with high speed cruising and lots of passing while downshifting and accellerating through 4,5,6.
I passed so many cars in Colorado, it became a game and cars up ahead were the bait! This is the readout from my trip computer: Duration of driving: 46.57 hours Distance traveled: 2608 miles Comsumption: 18.8 mpg. AVG. Speed: 59 mph. This was above 62 mph until I did some stop and go near the end of the trip going to Zion National Park. |

LANLORD, that's pretty good for the M
I'm still in break in period, but my 120mil trips usually average to 20.5mpg with constant elevation changes. This is cruising between 75-85 Once i start playing around with paddle shifters, i get to 18+ |
