Battery charging issue

My car hasn't been used for about a month.
The other day I went to start the car but no luck. I hooked up a battery charger and noticed that the rear outside lights were flickering and I heard a tick in the rear right side hatch of hatch where fuses are located. There is a large square relay that was ticking. I wonder if that relay went bad and is causing charging issue. Part number of relay is 61366901469. Would this relay prevent charging the battery?

That is a generic relay part number. They are used all over the cars. What location is it in inside the fuse box?

Relay I replaced was in the rear passenger hatch area next to plastic storage bin.
Still having the same issue. Battery charger is going from 0% to 100% every few seconds. I know the charger is fine because I tested on another car.

If a charger does that, it usualy means that the battery is dead. Because it gives a shortage at the charger is Goes out.

How mutch voltage do you measure at the battery ?

I won’t recomend it, but you could try it with a fully charged battery (not connected to another car)
Disconect the cabels to you car, Thake the + and - of you car battery and Connect the starter cable between the battery’s wait about 10 minutes, disconnect the starter cabels, then Connect the charger and see if it works now.

This gives the dead battery a boost.

Most of the times is a bone empty battery scrap.

Thanks Daytonawin
The battery has about @ 6.2 volts when I checked.
Battery is only 20 months old.
I will dismount the battery and try your trick out while it is out of the car.

6.2V??? That is pretty bad. Did you register the battery when you installed it?

Yeh I had a dead dead one showing 3 volts. Did the thing with connecting the new battery to it. Waited 30 min. It brought it up to 8 volts. Then put it on a slow charge 2amp but I don't think it's holding anything. Il leave it sit for a week, come back, and it's down to 4 volt. Junky battery. AGM from AutoZone , prob 10 yrs old

I saw a lot of bulletins on bmwtis about issues with comfort access door handles constantly trying to connect to the keys if you park close to your house. Basically never going into sleep mode or whatever they call it. Some even complained of hot door handles. Drains the hell out of the battery. And the truck has that smart battery monitor b.s. but still drains, especially with the fans running on engine off to try to cool it.

Few other forums mentioned bmw recommending just change batteries during every 5k 7k or 10k oil change. Yikes
