2012 m5 vs 2013 x6m

Hey guys

The dealership just informed me that I have a choice o the new m5 or the x6m?

Since I am placing an order what do you guys think ?
I heard that the m5 has a new engine and it's not as bad as the older versions??

2013 X6M? What is the different between that and a 2012? I am about to put down an allocation for a 2012.....

The dealership told me you could wait till march and you can get the 2012 version, but if u wait till June you'll get the April production which is apparently face lifted with fresh led lights

I think he meant if you order one now, you will get it by March. However, if you wait until April to order it, you will take delivery in June but you will get the face-lifted model.

I am not sure if that extends to the X6M. Apparently the face-lift is only confirmed with the upcoming X6. Nothing concrete is heard about the M model I believe. I could be wrong here.

I do not think you will be able to take delivery on a F10 M5 in March. Orders are delayed and you'd be lucky to get it next summer if you place a order now.

The 2013 X6 does not go into production until August 2012.

And factor in 6 weeks for delivery, that is easily 9-10 months away

Even so that is for the general public. We all know that if you have money, regardless of the general public release, you can get on the very early lists. Thats with almost anything these days. I have seen it happen. Most of us folks are considered "general public"...

Lol! That ain't exactly true;p

Matter of fact, I have posted recently about the 2011 x6m, but the dealership sold the car (to some serious political figure)even though I have put insurance to buy it. So the salesman over there said that I could hook u up with the 2013 version and it's face lifted if you wait do a couple of months (7 months ), I said that I didnt mind.

I do not actually believe the bloke cuz at the end of the day he does not want to loose me, and his job is selling cars. He might be bullshitting and there is no 2013 mOdel. This is why I thought of the m5?

Now on any normal occasion I wouldn't think of it, cuz 2 Of my friends own the 2008 and 2009 models and they claim that it's maintainance is a pain in the neck and it's not an everyday car. However this is the newer v8 engine so any of you know it's reliability against the x6m ?!

I use my M6 as a daily driver. The ride is comfortable enough and maintenance is similar to that of any other vehicle. Since the M5 is arguably a more sensible car compared to the 6, I'd imagine you'd do fine driving it daily.

no question, M5
Don't really get the X6m. No more room than a sedan and heavier.
If you need and SUV and more room, get t he X5m.
Otherwise M5

The x5m is going to through the last phase of its years.
I mean I don't wanna get something that's going to change and get its makeover soon.
I'll think about the m5, but the x6m is sexy, sleek and at the same time very fast.
