Stealership spark plug change ---- lie

Hey all. I feel like im going crazy with dealing with this dealer. First of all, loaner cars, never will they give one. But its besides the point.

I have rt66 warranty and bmw maintenance plan.

Dealer: Advantage bmw midtown houston.

Sa: jeff rodgers

I took my car in for a transfer case, 1 month later, i got it back. They changed transfer case, hpfp, sparkplugs, oil etc.

After this visit. I keep getting a cyl 1 missfire. Also check front bushings, and my evap cel issue. Took it back in. They say cyl 1 coil pack. Took them a week to diagnose even tho i had an appointment. Took abother 3 days to fix. I get the car back, cyl 1 miss fires. Wtf.

I have a n55 335i so i had ordered sparkplugs for it, so i decided to check the x5s plugs, thought maybe new plugs r defective. Guess what i found.

Am i reading the ticket wrong? It says replace 6 with new pn. Does that plug look new?

Bmw NA paid for it. And this STEALERSHIP put even worse plugs in my car. Am i wrong here to be pissed?

Oh and my engine partition was broken and no pieces returned and they refuse to give me replacements. Thsi time, they tore off my foam in the engine cover. They have damaged my car every time, left screws loose, done something that needs verification. Am i wrong to be pissed?

Should i call bmw na?

Sorry for the rant. See pics attached

I bought my X5 from second owner who had it serviced at Advantage and that place is s joke. Looked like they had some kid working on it at some point. Broken tabs, missing screws, etc. all of which I fixed myself. It's actually no surprise to hear your story. I'd complain to BMW NA and have it services elsewhere.

WOW! Thought it was just me. I have a warranty similar to yours and took mine to the same place (I wont mention the SA, but it wasnt Jeff),and terrible experience as well. No loaner, hard to reach to reach staff, and basic quality work. The SA gave me a really hard time!

I vowed never to bring my car back there. They just took my money and terrible service.

Unfortunately BMW NA took up for them so to speak.

Yeah, they are so busy trying to rush you out, they forgot how to give proper customer service and quality service.

I'm in the same boat. Found a indy near the wooodlands, but it's too far from me (almost 1hr), and their prices were only slightly lower than the dealer, so it doesnt really make sense.

Maybe someone on the forum can suggest one?

I've had bad experiences with Advantage BMW Houston- Midtown also! Every time the car goes in, I have to bring it back the next day for something they broke or didn't assemble correctly!

Might be worth just finding an different dealership altogether, even if it's an hour drive.

I recently scheduled an appointment at Advantage Midtown. I got there and they didn't have a loaner for me anymore. No biggie, I have an extra car at home. But, then the adviser started talking his way out of the service, saying they didn't know how long the parts would take and if they could get me scheduled in anytime soon. Why the heck did they let me make an appointment then? Long story short, I spent about an hr talking to them before getting in my car and driving off. I scheduled an appointment with BMW of Houston North next, so here's to hoping they are better.

If you're in the loop, I've taken my Cayenne to Orion Auto in the heights and was pleased. They changed out my front driveshaft for $900 and most of that was the part. I can walk there, so I liked the place. Also, I've heard good things about Bavarian Machine Specialties near allen pkwy and Waugh.

haha, yes why would they schedule a service when they can't get to the car. it takes them a week to look at my car every time i take it in.

Last time i waited for a loaner for 3 weeks while my car was in the shop, they told me to come pick it up, went in, oh the hpfp is bad. I TOLD THEM THAT!!!! this is 3 weeks later. asked for a loaner. OH NO NO NO. so i went to wait for the shuttle. sitting by the loaner desk int eh waiting area, someone comes in and asks for a loaner, same speech none left. but put your name on this list. 10 mins later, oh we just got one in, and they gave it to them. OH WTF, i've been MF waiting for 3 weeks and you give it to a walk in! wtf. scum bags.

yea i keep finding more and more screws and things missing and not assembled correctly.

yea i've heard good things about bmw woodlands and such. yea i may start using them or bav machine. i only take it to dealers for loaners and ext warranty. or else i'd just work on the car my self. lol

Garage List
2010 M5  [10.00]
2016 BMW 340xi M Sport  [9.00]
2019 X5 50i M Sport  [5.50]
2010 535xi  [0.00]
2013 M5  [0.00]
2012 X5 M  [0.00]
This is the very reason when it comes to certain maintenance work,..I did my own work! This was the case with my '88 535is! I was able to maintain it bumper to bumper,...didn't ever the dealer for for nothing,...bought most of my parts from BavAutoSport.

Well, I tried out BMW Houston North. While they may seem a bit better than your experience at Midtown... I'm not sure I can recommend it.
