E70 X5M OEM Air Filter Questions

Hello,

I just changed air filter on my X5M and when I took the air-filter housing out I saw total 4 air filters? two orange trim ones on front and ones that looks like charcoal filters on back, eventually these will pressed against each other?

so question is, where can I find these charcoal looking filters? couldn't find it, even from RealOEM, only showing orange trim looking ones (2 & 3 from diagram) - http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...40#13717589641

Ok, I found the thread talking about the charcoal filters - http://www.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=738571
But I haven't found where I can get the new ones or at least part#s for them.

These I was told are not replaceable and are part of the intake housing. Only the paper filter is replaceable.

This was on my 135is with the same motor, same intake housing. N55.

Not sure if the dealer knew what they where talking about but only had the car for a little over a year before trading it in for an i3 so never needed to change it.

Thanks for the info..... wondering if I should just take it out (carbon filter delete) , don't like the idea of filter that in intake system and not changing forever?

Not sure you'll gain anything. Plus these filters never get dirty as their behind the paper filter. BMW saw a need for them so who knows maybe you'd do more harm than good removing them. My X has over 110k miles and they still look clean, Even though their black they don't look like they would need changing.
