First Impressions with Velos Tune and Downpipes...

Hey Guys
I just wanted to give my first impressions with the recently installed Velos Tune and catless downpipes....

THIS THING IS INSANE ! !
I MEAN LIKE BERSERK, STUPID FAST !!!

I have attached a pic with me and the bikes on a recent trip up North.
Enjoy.

Only one drawback which may turn out to be problematic... the thing is LOUD and I mean on the brink of obnoxiously loud... I am already beginning to get complaints from the neighbours and even other drivers.... hmmmm not good...

Any ideas on how to keep this performance AND quiet the beast down a bit???
Thanks

Which pipes did you get? To help with the noise... carry the below for the offended otherwise they should thank you..

http://www.amazon.com/Hearos-Ultimat...ords=ear+plugs

Are you running the stock exhaust? You should be well within acceptable decibel levels unless your'e running straight pipes.

Post some more pics and details.

LOL ! !

I have the Velos pipes and my exhaust is totally stock. However, at about 3000 rpm, I have a very loud trumpet blast sound !

Same issue. Very "tinny" metal sounding too

Have you had your car on a track or dyno? Very interested to know your gains.

I have not had time to dyne or track the car, but I have clocked my 0-60 times at 3.9 sec and 4.0 seconds both ways.

I am seriously confused between this total insanity and the associated noise, or going back to a more civilized and quiet but still acceptably fast machine.

Input guys?

Revel in it! Who cares what your neighbors think, you're already on the ragged edge of sanity with a 12 second SUV.

This was our Cayenne with a Cargraphic exhaust and it was ridiculously loud and I loved it:

Video by a dealership a year or so before we bought it:

I vote for enjoy your hoonmobile.

LOLLL!!

The thing is I am a Doctor (believe it or not ! ) and I am supposed to be helping to cure and treat people, not causing them to have heart attacks ! !

Besides, I don't want people to think I have gone totally nuts, or have a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde side to me! !

I found a simple solution for this when on my bike, which has a pretty significant bark at high RPM/high throttle--just baby it in the neighborhood and open it up when you're away from people you know

Take the truck back into the shop and have them tighten everything up.. Sometimes shit is a little loose which will make it much louder than it should be.

I'm still riding the fence.... did you have a tune before the DPs?
I already feel the difference by having a tune, however I'm trying to understand if installing DPs would give me just a little more or is it ALOT more?

I am concerned about gaseous odor in cabin.... other people have made comments....did you notice this?

Down pipe just give you another 20% in juice. Do the tune first, then decide if you need that next little bump.

Yes I had Velos tune installed before the downpipes install, just to prevent getting a CEL as per Omar's advice.

Intalling DPs will give you a LOT MORE , hands down, not just a "little bump".
There is no comparison.

I have no gaseous odor at all in the cabin and I am even beginning to enjoy the throaty roar on WOT and how it sets off the car alarms ! !
