X5 diet
Anybody know if you can remove the backseats with some ease in an X5M? Are you doing anything else at the track to lighten the load?
Thanks D

Really?
The e93m3 is heavier then the e60m5. As a matter of fact, it was the heaviest ///M ever, until the x5m came out. To the OP: backseats and rear cargo area panels are easy to remove and take some knowledge and careful patience to install again. However, at 5,200 lbs + you are going to feel very little difference after removing 100 or even 200 lbs. |

Taking out the rear seats and rear cargo panels on ur X5M will maybe yield 100 lbs. max... and u will not feel that on a 5200 lbs car. I dropped 200 lbs. off my e46m3 and felt it at the track by 2 seconds = 3200 lbs. But when I dropped 200 lbs off my e90m3 i only gained 5/10ths at the track = 3400 lbs. Weight at the track works exponentially after a certain number and it has to do with change of direction/inertia. A GT-R doesn't start getting faster until you drop down below 3600 lbs. so oddly enough a 3700 lbs. GT-R will go as fast as a 3900 lbs. version. There is not a scientific calculation to this, but I would assume you would have to lose at least 400 lbs to feel or see any difference on the timesheets. |
